#VoteHousing Mission
“To engage Canadians to pledge to vote housing in the upcoming federal election and ensure all political parties support making bold investments in affordable housing and ending homelessness.”
About #VoteHousing
The rise of modern mass homelessness and shortage of affordable housing in Canada began in the 1980s and is the direct result of federal withdrawal from affordable housing investment and cuts to social services.
Vote Housing is a non-partisan, national, grassroots campaign. It is led by the Canadian Lived Experience Leadership Network (CLELN), the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness, the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association, and the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada.
Habitat for Humanity and #VoteHousing
Vote Housing’s mission aligns with our calls for investment in affordable housing and Habitat’s strategic objective to help mobilize national support for housing. These shared interests can be leveraged to gain the support needed to provide Canadians with better access to affordable housing.
