Live in unison amongst a thoughtfully designed environment with abundant outdoor space and lifestyle amenities that fosters connection.
Everyone deserves a decent place to call home. Your generosity plays a vital role in turning dreams into reality for more families needing affordable, stable and secure homes in our communities.
We maximize your impact by utilizing volunteers and in-kind donations to keep development costs as low as possible. Additionally, funds generated by our ReStore social enterprises support our operations, ensuring that your donations go even further.
With your help, we can ensure that more Habitat families will achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life. Together, we can make a lasting impact.
Volunteering with Habitat HMD offers you the chance to make a tangible difference in your community while working alongside dedicated and passionate individuals. By joining our team, you will help provide affordable housing solutions, gain valuable skills, and experience the fulfillment of supporting a meaningful cause. Your efforts as a volunteer contribute to building homes and hope. Discover the joy of giving back, making new connections, and being part of a mission that transforms lives—one volunteer hour at a time.
Are you interested in becoming a Habitat ambassador? If you are tired of paying rent and are looking to build more security, stability and independence, then a Habitat home may be right for you. Habitat HMD offers a pathway for homeownership for families who want to own their own home but face challenges because of unaffordable real estate prices. We provide special consideration to local families living in unsafe, unhealthy or inadequate housing.
The Habitat ReStore is our social enterprise. We accept and resell donations of new and gently used furniture, appliances, décor, and home improvement building materials. All purchases are tax free.
Shopping at a Habitat ReStore is a socially conscious decision. As a non-governmental organization, all funds generated by our ReStore social enterprises help support our operations. It is also an environmentally conscious decision, as much of what is sold is product that is new, gently used or customer returns that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Did you know that since 1991, our ReStores have diverted over 1 billion pounds from the local landfills?
Affordable housing is no longer a low-income issue. In our communities of Halton, MIssissauga and Dufferin, homeownership is becoming an option for only the top income earners or those with generational wealth.
No matter who we are or where we come from, we all deserve to have a decent life. We deserve to feel strength and stability day after day. We deserve to know we have the power to take care of ourselves and build our own futures. And every one of us deserves a fair chance.
Affordable housing allows people to save more, invest in education, live in healthier environments and have more financial stability. It is the foundation for success and a better future.
