Reliance Heats It Up For Habitat

For many in our community, living in a warm and safe home is a dream that is sometimes out of reach, and even with the mild winter we’ve just had, knowing you can rely on a warm place to live is a comfort we all hope to enjoy. Thanks to our newest partner, Reliance Home Comfort, along with Redmond/Williams, our families moving into Plains Road will know exactly what it means to have a warm and safe home thanks to an incredible donation from these two leading companies.

As a top provider of heating, cooling and water heater solutions to Canadian homeowners, Reliance Home Comfort provides a wide range of quality brand name products and furnace and air conditioner service plans. The company also offers a large network of technical experts and 24-hour telephone support. Family-owned Canadian company, Redmond/Williams Distributing, is a full service distributor of innovative, high end, quality HVAC and hearth products. These two companies have joined together to make an in-kind donation of furnaces and water heaters, including installation, for our townhouse units on Plains Road. The value of their combined donation is over $50,000 worth of product and services.

For Tom Duncan, Reliance’s General Manager for Hamilton, Halton, Niagara, Burlington and Oakville, Reliance’s involvement with Habitat for Humanity is aligned with the company’s philosophy of giving back to the community.

“At Reliance, we wanted to deliver on our brand promise of ‘We’re not comfortable until you are’, working with our manufacturer partners – in this case Redmond/Williams – to provide top-of-the-line RedZone air handlers and Bosch tankless water heaters to the homes on Plains Road. It really comes back to identifying opportunities for Reliance team members to give back to the communities in which we live and work. Our partnership with Habitat Halton-Mississauga demonstrates how working together reduces the number of families living in poverty and leaves a lasting legacy in our community.”

“Donations of new building materials and the time and skill of technicians to install specialized products helps us keep our construction costs to a minimum,” says John Gerrard, Habitat Halton-Mississauga’s CEO. “It is through the generosity of companies like Reliance Home Comfort and Redmond/Williams that we can continue to build safe, decent and affordable homes for hard working families who need it most.”
