When deciding to help out and with a charity of your choice, you may be wondering what the best action might be for you. What kind of donations can you give? Do you want to give your time, your money? How about being in the ReStore bringing products back to life, or having your boots in the dirt helping build a new home for a family in need? Maybe you have a group of friends or co-workers who want to get involved and would want to contribute to a great cause together. There are many programs that we offer that help you and others contribute! We’ve had over 1400 businesses, schools, churches, youth groups, and corporations take part in these programs and have helped change the lives of families forever.
Team Builds
If you’re looking to motivate and strengthen your team of employees while contributing in your community, Team Build Days (or Adopt-a-Day) are perfect for your team! Team Build Days are the ultimate team building experience in the GTA, and the outcome of a successful day greatly benefits Habitat, our community, and can challenge and motivate your team to achieving great things. Your build day can be wherever you want to plan it – on one of our build sites in the area, indoors or in our workshop, so we have accommodating environments for all groups. When on a build site with your team of 20, we provide everything you will need! Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), t-shirts, snacks, coffee and a great experience!
Workplace Giving Program
There are no limits to what you and your team can do to donate to Habitat for Humanity Halton-Mississauga. If you don’t want to put in work on a construction site or help out in our ReStore, we offer other ways for your office or workplace to get involved! Our Workplace Giving Program helps create ways to have fun and get excited about donating! We will work with you in creating the perfect fundraiser for your company to help raise donations for our future builds and projects. We’re all about finding unique and creative ways to donate, so set a donation goal and work with us to help figure out which initiatives will benefit you and your team.
Hope Builder’s Program and Other Donations
Becoming a member of our Hope Builder program makes an impact where it matters most. Being able to consistently depend on a monthly donation helps us bring support to families that need it most. You can help change the lives of 26 families this year, as well as providing help to 250 families in the next three years, and your recurring donation goes towards us completing our 2018 build projects! With 18 units in Burlington and 8 in Mississauga being built in 2018, we appreciate everything our Hope Builder’s contribute to us. We also guarantee that 100% of your donation goes towards the cost of building a home, meaning that your donation is directly impacting a family in a positive way.
Individual donations benefit Habitat greatly, mainly because of all the various ways just one person can help us achieve our goals. Financial donations are always appreciated, and you receive a charitable tax receipt when making a contribution in helping us provide families an affordable home.
