Video gaming consoles have about 6 to 8 years in its lifecycle, given the continued upgrades in graphics, broadband, and overall technology. Casual and hard core gamers will surely go through several consoles during their youth up to adulthood or even middle age, depending on whether gaming is a regular part of their daily life. Though there are also a section of youth who, as they got older, that gaming has gone out of their “system,” so to speak. There are a lot of homes in which old gaming consoles haven’t been touched in a a couple of, if not many, years, like the early PlayStations (PS), Nintendo GameBoy or ds, Xbox, or Nintendo Wii.
So, now’s the perfect time to do spring cleaning, and donate the gaming consoles, controllers and video games. Drop them off the nearest ReStore in Burlington, Milton, Mississauga or Orangeville. Heck, if you’ve got any of these vintage gaming consoles like Atari, Magnavox, ColecoVision, or Intellivision, or later models in the 20th century like Nintendo Entertainment System (NEW), Super NES, SEGA Mega Drive or SEGA Dreamcast, or the early PlayStation models, the Habitat HMD ReStores will take them off your hands, too! The ReStores also accepts portable gaming systems or handhelds like Nintendo Game Boy, Neo Geo, and even those classic Game & Watch’s from the 1980’s.
Yup, that’s right, as long as your video game console works, the ReStore will accept your donation! You’ll get a tax receipt for your video games, gaming consoles and controllers, and your donation also helps a nonprofit achieve its mission. Habitat HMD’s mission is to provide affordable homes to the communities of Halton region (Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville), Mississauga and Dufferin County (Orangeville). The ReStores, as the social enterprise of Habitat HMD, operate to help fund the build projects, but it also helps support sustainability through reusing and repurposing of products. Our ReStores will take care of reselling your console and games and that helps Habitat HMD build affordable homes in West GTA Ontario and North of Toronto in Dufferin region.
