We accept refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, washing machines and dryers, ovens, stoves, microwave ovens and more. However, we cannot accept anything that is damaged, moldy, broken and dangerous. As long as what’s donated is in working condition, the ReStore is willing to accept.

A great benefit of donating appliances and more to Habitat HMD’s ReStores are that you help the less fortunate who can still use your appliances, you’ll receive a tax receipt for your kind deed and you reduce unnecessary waste by recirculating large items that can be used by others. Plus we offer free donation pick up!

Habitat HMD also offers kitchen removal and appliance removal services.

Oftentimes appliances are thrown out to the curb for the municipal local collectors to get them. Then they’re placed at a location where they will soon rust, leak chemicals into the groundwater, release harmful chemicals into the environment, then dangerous materials manage to decompose into the water we drink and refrigerators and air conditioners release gases that lead to air pollution. Therefore, since appliances are not biodegradable, they just sit and take up large amounts of space. Large appliances can all be easily recycled and donated to Habitat for Humanity ReStores. Just out of concern for the environment and the desire to help others, do not throw them in the dump!

Washers and Dryers are accepted at a Habitat HMD ReStoreNow, conversely, for people who are looking for affordable appliances, look no further than the ReStores in Burlington, Milton, Mississauga or Orangeville, as there are appliances there for sure!  Buying brand new appliances might be expensive and you don’t need anything fancy, just as long as it gets the job done.  The best option for you is purchasing affordable appliances at any of our ReStores.  An extra bonus is that the ReStores sometimes also get new and unused appliances.
