Almost two million people have been forced to flee Ukraine and up to four million people are expected to be without a safe place to call home as a result of the military offensive that began in late February. It is the biggest movement of people in Europe since World War II and a humanitarian crisis.
How Habitat for Humanity is helping
Your donations will help support the immediate shelter needs of refugees from Ukraine through Habitat’s work in Eastern Europe. Habitat for Humanity national organizations in Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia are responding to the needs of families fleeing violence in Ukraine. These on-the-ground teams are ramping up efforts to reduce the vulnerability of refugees and meet their housing needs as well as planning to partner with refugees seeking long-term housing as they arrive and settle in host communities.
Please give generously so we can reach even more families.
Habitat for Humanity is well-positioned to respond to this crisis, prioritizing support for particularly vulnerable refugees, including children, the elderly and those who are neither citizens of Ukraine nor the country they have arrived in.
