Pursuing post-secondary studies away from home or moving into your own apartment for the first time can be extremely daunting – and expensive. It’s costly to buy everything you’ll need, but not with Habitat HM’s ReStores. What types of dorm or apartment furniture do we have for sale?
Office chairs
As a student, you spend most of your time studying, sat behind an oversized textbook or typing furiously on your keyboard. With long hours on end sitting behind a desk, it’s important that your office chair provides you with necessary comfort and support.
We have chairs coming in many different styles and colours, and with our office chairs frequently going on sale, be sure to keep your eyes glued to our Facebook page for promotions!
Desks
With a long list of mandatory textbooks, students need a lot of desk space to accommodate their studies. If you like to have two texts spread open, with loose papers strewn across the table, check out some of the oversized desks we have in stock. We also have a range of minimalistic desk designs, with pastel colours or delicate embellishments.
Organizers and storage solutions
Staying organized is one of the top keys to academic success. If your workspace is kept organized, you’ll have a much easier time staying focused and maintaining a “tidy mind.” Our ReStores have filing cabinets and file holders that can sit on top of your desk or below, which make staying organized as easy as possible.
Back to school supplies
Our Burlington ReStore has a range of back to school supplies at extremely affordable prices. Come check out our file folders and binders so you can dive right into the new school season without breaking the bank. For our younger students, we also have a selection of fun school accessories, like Webkinz bookmarks, picture frames to hang in your locker and sparkly letter-shaped notebooks.
Small dressers
While dorm rooms are often quite small, it’s always a good idea to bring along some extra clothing storage. Especially if you’re sharing closet space with a roommate, you don’t want to have to struggle to fit all your clothes on hangers. We have a variety of small two to three-drawer dressers, in styles ranging from traditional to modern.
Accent and lounge chairs
A chair can make the perfect addition to your bedroom, bringing both utility and flair. Whether you want a plush, comfy armchair you can sink into while you sip your morning coffee, or if you prefer a sturdy, simple chair you can use to lay out your clothes in the morning, you’ll get a lot of use out of this handy piece of furniture. Seating is also often scarce in dorm rooms, so it’s always a good idea to bring in an extra chair for get-togethers with friends.
Wall hangings
Dorm rooms or starter apartments have a bad reputation for looking like jail cells. Maybe it’s the concrete walls so commonly found in residences, but it definitely doesn’t bring a homey feeling to your room. An easy way to overcome this obstacle is to simply cover the walls up!
Our ReStores have a selection of art that we’re sure will surprise you. From paintings to photographs and prints, ranging from the size of a postcard to frames that will take up an entire wall. With artwork selling for as low as $5, you can pick out all of your favourite pieces without the guilt of spending tons of money.
Funky room décor
Another great way to make your home away from home feel more comfortable is to bring in some room décor that reflects your tastes. Pick out a colourful vase to fill with a bouquet of fake flowers or a bundle of twigs to spruce up the space. A decorative mirror is also a great way to make your room look bigger and add a flair of elegance.
Small appliances, cookware and dishware
If you’re moving into a suite-style dorm or an apartment, you’ll want to make sure you have all kitchen necessities packed and ready to go. Our ReStores have small appliances like microwaves, toasters and blenders, cookware like pots and pans and dishware like plates, mugs and bowls.
Unbeatable deals
Not only do we mark our prices down to a fraction of the item’s original retail value, but we also frequently have department-wide or even store-wide sales going on. Moving into a dorm or living on your own can be so expensive, but with Habitat HM’s ReStores, it doesn’t have to be.
