While it might not seem like your purchase of lights from our ReStore makes an impact, we’re here to tell you it does. We like to think of it using the “drop in the bucket” analogy.
You might view your purchase as a single raindrop into a bucket – not likely to go very far. At Habitat HMD, we see first-hand the impact each raindrop has. When many people are purchasing from our ReStores, the raindrops fill our bucket, inch by inch, until we’ve filled it to the brim.
How does your purchase translate into impact?
Now that we have all this support from our local community through ReStore purchases, what do we do with it? Every dollar from sales through our ReStore goes to cover costs of our not-for-profit administration.
Because we have these administration costs taken care of, Habitat can do what it does best: build.
In case you don’t already know, Habitat’s mission is quite straightforward: build as much affordable housing within our community as we can, to give hardworking and deserving local families a hand-up.
When your ReStore purchases contribute to our administration fees, we can stretch every donated dollar to accomplish more. Habitat HMD is currently working on three build projects. By supporting us through shopping in our ReStores, you’re enabling this work to continue.
